Flame Cremation and Conventional and Green Burial are the only legal options currently offered in BC. Other disposition options, like Terramation and Aquamation are not offered in BC, due to government legislation, but can be requested in jurisdictions where it is a legal offering.

Church Funeral Ceremony Planning - coordination of funeral service with church + clergy - $450.00

Basic Ceremony Staff - One licensed director to attend and manage the ceremony, overtime rate for extended services - $450.00
Full Ceremony Staff - Two trained staff (at least 1 licensed funeral director) to attend and manage the ceremony service (this option is required for large or complex service with multiple considerations) - $625.00

KORU Gathering Room for private viewings, maximum 10 people (optional service fees)

Basic Use - two hours, Mon. - Fri., between 10 am and 3 pm - $300.00
Evenings, Weekends or Holidays - two hours - $495.00
All-Day Vigil - eight hours, Mon. - Fri., between 9 am and 5 pm - $950.00

Transport of Deceased Person - from place of death into KORU's care (required service fee) *

Service Vehicle to Return Home - $1,475.00

Each transfer of a deceased person requires specialized equipment, licenses, and sometimes vehicles to complete. We are able to transfer from any place including high-rise apartment buildings in the middle of the night to hospital morgues on Monday morning. KORU will also assist motivated families in preparing a private transfer permit at no cost should they wish to transfer their deceased person with their own vehicle.

Essential Care (required service fee) *

Price: $500.00

Includes sheltering and non-invasive, natural body care. Permits KORU to provide basic sanitation and removal of non-organic material (ie. medical devices) prior to cremation or burial.

KORU partners with two main crematoriums. West Shore Crematorium (preferred provider) and Maple Ridge Crematorium (alternate provider). West Shore Crematorium is a state-of-the-art facility located in Langford, owned by a local Metro Vancouver firm. We are committed to working primarily with other locally owned businesses but can also provide Witness Cremation Services at Vancouver Crematorium (Dignity Canada). Terramation services are provided by Return Home, located in Auburn, WA, USA. The BC government does not allow Terramation to be offered in BC at this time.
