KORU’s Service Bundle Prices were created to help with the planning process.

Prices effective as of January 2024

KORU Cremation | Burial | Ceremony provides direct and tailored cremation, burial and ceremony services so that you can mourn and celebrate your dead, your way.

KORU strongly supports and encourages Green Funeral practices that take place free from the use of toxic or non-biodegradable materials and chemicals.

To meet these standards KORU offers and provides:   

  • Eco-Friendly caskets and shrouds to enclose and transport the dead for burial and cremation ceremonies
  • Essential, Natural Body Care of the Deceased with non-toxic, non-invasive practices (sanitation and temporary preservation using only non-toxic, biodegradable topical products – essential oils – and refrigeration)
  • Private and public viewings, home vigils, wakes, church funerals and graveside ceremonies when the deceased has been cared for naturally (as described above)

Essential Cremation

From $3,350
A cremation package that looks after all of the required, essential practices for cremation, without KORU's involvement for additional ceremony services. All of KORU's basic professional fees, an eco cremation tray (casket), sustainable urn and the crematorium fee are included. Third party fees (CPBC admin fee and death certificates) and taxes are additional.
KORU Core Professional Services includes support and guidance from licensed professional staff, facilities, vehicles, and administration for the essential services we provide. They are the foundation on which the rest of our services are offered.
General Professional Services – Includes In-Person or Remote Consultation(s) with Licensed Funeral Director, Disposition Management, 24/7 Urgent Availability, all necessary follow-up and communications $ 925.00
Administration – Includes Documentation, Death Registration, Online Obituary, Provision of Government Forms and Resources, Mailing of Death Certificates$ 625.00
Transport of Body$ 500.00
Essential Care – Includes Sheltering, and Non-Invasive, Natural Body Care$ 450.00
 

Private Family Time + Cremation

From $ 4,000
This option gives families the opportunity to either participate in the cleansing of their deceased person, or for KORU's staff to provide the cleansing so that the family can have private time with their person. All of KORU's professional fees, an eco cremation tray (casket), sustainable urn and the crematorium fee are included. Third party fees (CPBC admin fee and death certificates) and taxes are additional.
This option provides families time to spend with their person who died, prior to cremation. KORU’s Gathering Room will be made available Monday to Friday between 10 am and 3 pm. Other times are available for additional fees. Third party fees or graveside burial services are in addition.

Complete Personal Care – includes full body cleansing, personal grooming, dressing and laying out in cremation casket. $ 375.00

Witness Cremation

From $4,600
This option allows families to attend and bear witness to the start of the cremation with some private time with their deceased person just prior to cremation. All of KORU's professional fees for a witness cremation, an eco cremation tray (casket), sustainable urn and the crematorium fee are included. Third party fees (CPBC admin fee and death certificates) and taxes are additional.
This option allows for KORU to be involved with providing the essential services and products to ensure cremation of the deceased, while giving space for families to plan their own ceremony services. Please note third party options are additional.

Traditional Church Service with Cremation

From $5,100
Services for families who are looking for a traditional church ceremony (with the casket present), followed by cremation. All of KORU's professional fees for a traditional service are included, as well as the fee at the crematorium, and a sustainably made urn. Other fees to be added are the cremation casket, floral arrangements, memorial cards, third party fees (CPBC admin fee, death certificates, honorariums) and taxes.
This option allows for KORU to be involved with providing the essential services and products to assist with a Green Burial. Please note third party options are in addition.

Traditional Church Service with Burial

From $ 4,550
Services for families who are looking for a traditional church ceremony (with the casket present), followed by full burial. All of KORU's professional fees for a traditional service are included. Other fees to be added are the burial casket, floral arrangements, memorial cards, third party fees (CPBC admin fee, death certificates, cemetery costs, honorariums) and taxes.
This option allows for KORU to be involved with providing support and products to create a traditional funeral service at a church. Please note third party options are in addition.

Green Burial Services

From $4,050
A burial service for those who are interested in leaving a lighter footprint when buried. All of KORU's professional fees for a green or natural burial graveside service and a biodegradable burial shroud, are included.Third party fees (CPBC admin fee and death certificates) and taxes are additional.
This option allows for KORU to be involved with providing the essential services and products to assist with a Witness Cremation. Please note third party options are in addition.

Terramation (Natural Organic Reduction)

From $4,300
The terramation process (also known as natural organic reduction or body composting) gently and naturally transforms our human bodies into soil using alfalfa, straw, sawdust and time. KORU's services includes all required professional services of a licensed funeral director and transportation of the deceased to Return Home in Auburn, WA. The fee for the Terramation process and a laying-in ceremony by Return Home are additional costs.
While terramation (natural organic reduction) isn’t legally available in BC, KORU is able to work with Return Home™ to provide clients the opportunity to have their remains reduced to soil.

Terramation Services at Return Home™ (Auburn, WA)
Receiving and storing of remains; dressing of remains in custom compostable garments; the terramation process (approx. 60 days total); facility access for families to visit during the first 30 days; packaging of terramated remains for family; delivery of excess soil to the Return home Woodland property in Washington State.

Memorial Package, MVC Celebration Hall

When you are ready to celebrate and pay tribute to a life lived, KORU can help you plan a final farewell. This package can be customized to your preference. It is based on planning services from KORU's staff, rental of Celebration Hall and trained service attendants to manage the service. It also includes allowances for a Celebrant and for a contemporary canapé catering package for 50 guests.
This option includes KORU’s involvement to create and help with a memorial service at Celebration Hall (Mt. View Cemetery), Vancouver.
