Bernice May Johnson (nee Jeffery), died peacefully in her sleep at home in Gibsons, BC on
Sunday morning, September 4th, 2022 at the age of 77.

She was born in Vancouver in 1945 to Art and May Jeffery (nee Cotton). In 1966 she married Len Johnson and they remained married until his death in 2020. After raising two daughters and pursuing a career as a tutor for dyslexic children, she retired to Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast in 2003, where she was able to devote time to quilting, as a member of the Sunshine Coast Quilters’ Guild, and volunteering with the Sechelt Hospital’s Auxiliary Thrift Store, and Harmony Hall.

Predeceased by her husband Len, parents Art and May Jeffery and brother Ed Jeffery. Bernice is survived by her daughter Christine (grandsons David and Alex), daughter Valerie, and her brother Martin (Sue).

A memorial gathering will be held at a date yet to be determined.

Memorial donations may be made in Bernice’s honour to the BC Cancer Foundation.

    So many memories of Bernice and Len visiting us in UK and us staying with them in Vancouver, what a fabulous fun time we had being shown around the area, even country cross ski-ing in the rain on very wet snow at Whistler.
    Bernice taught me how to bake sourdough bread, which I still do now!
    Our lovely friends reunited, God Bless You Both xx

    Bernice , you are so missed. You and Len were such a big part of our lives, and very good friends. You are with Len now, so that brings a smile, but there is a big hole in our hearts

    Bernice was one of the first people I met when I moved here and she was so warm and welcoming. Will miss her radiant smile. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.
