February 12, 1952 – February 24, 2025

Catherine Lynn Radley, died on Monday, February 24, 2025 peacefully after living with Cancer for many years.

Catherine was a force to be reckoned with – she brought both the force and the reckoning. This no doubt helped her beat the odds numerous times.

She was strong-willed, determined and 100% opinionated in everything she did. She loved a good deal, a good steak and french fries. She loved sour cream and mayonnaise not miracle whip. She loved playing games and winning at all costs – something she passed on to all of us. She loved a good laugh but had a hard time understanding jokes – her laughter would come after you fully explained the joke.

She was a self-proclaimed expert at flower arranging and growing plants – they died frequently so she could perfect her expertise at bringing them back to life.

She set her sights on Lynn, while working as a waitress in the Laurentian Hotel in Montreal. She was working at Murray’s Restaurant while studying to be an RN. Within 2 years she married her best customer, graduated nursing school and began working as an RN in Psychiatry. When Xantha arrived on the scene, she took on the role of mother for many years. She eventually re-entered the workforce again as a waitress and then back to nursing before she bought a travel franchise. She loved to find deals and fight for everything she and her clients were owed. She’d spend hours to save $5.

She wasn’t always the best cook but she tried. She made grilled peanut butter and bacon sandwiches, pork chops in a pressure cooker, tuna casserole, shake & bake chicken with the shake and bake on the side – all but one of her kids are now vegetarian. She is quite known for her tortiere pie, a Christmas Eve tradition she carried out every year even if it was only ready at 11pm.

She will be missed by her husband of 51 years Lynn and her three daughters, Xantha, Aislynn and Cynara and her granddaughter Neva, and of course Steve, her favourite (son in law).

Rick and I are heartbroken to know that Catherine has passed away.
We remember those fun days when our kids were small.
We had such great times together….at church and school events and the visiting back and forth between good friends.
Catherine was a force for sure …she had a compassionate heart and .was always there when someone was in need.
The world has lost a generous soul.
    Thinking of you all
    Joanne and Rick
