Forever in Our Hearts

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Donald Sutherland Robertson age 85. Don passed away in January at his home in Richmond surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Don leaves behind his wife, Marjorie, three sons Kevin (Michelle), Curtis (Sue), Travis (Lauren), and five grandchildren Savannah, Audrey, Adam, Connor and Hayden. He also leaves behind his sister Jane, sister-in-law Judy and many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his sister, Ivy in 2024 and his brother, Grant in 2025.

Born in Red Deer, Alberta to Scottish Ukrainian parents Don spent his early years in Edmonton and Calgary.  After working in Australia and travelling Europe he settled in Richmond in 1972 where he raised his family. 

Don worked for the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) in Air Quality as an Instrumentation Technologist for over 30 years. He spent many years coaching and assisting boys soccer and baseball teams in the South Arm area. Don loved to fish, ski and travel. His infectious love of fixing things, be it tools, appliances, fences or vehicles, left a mark on his family and friends.
