Gary Leslie Ross, aged 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Vancouver, BC on March 22, 2020.

Gary is survived by his father Doug, his siblings Tori, Deb (Darryl), Mike (Bea), and Steve (Bev), nieces Kendal and Joleen, and nephews Todd, Cory and Cameron. He is predeceased by his mother Jilean Rayner, brother Phil and nephew Sean. He leaves behind many dear friends and special relatives who have been a great source of love and support.

Gary was a true fighter, demonstrating unbelievable courage and inner strength, battling two
cancer diagnoses in just six months. He faced his treatments with a quiet and calm patience.

His family would like to thank the many Doctors, Nurses, and Healthcare Professionals who cared for Gary during his hospitalizations and treatments at Vancouver General Hospital and BC Cancer Agency. A special thanks to Dr. Leslie Zypchen and Dr. Ciara Freeman for their excellent care, concern and support of Gary. Thank you to the Home Care Nurses team, including the Palliative Nurses who ensured Gary’s comfort in his final days.

Gary was probably the biggest Rolling Stones fan and was very excited to obtain tickets to the plannedMay 12 concert in Vancouver. He will no doubt be rockin’ and rollin’ in the Heavens to make up for missing his 14th concert! He’ll be watching and listening with “Far Away Eyes”.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date.

Doug, Deb, Steve, Mike, Tori and families
I just received news yesterday of Gary’s passing and wanted to pass along our sincerest condolences. Although we had not seen each other for many years, it will not take away the many good memories like Christmas in Grande Prairie and vacations in Kelowna. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

Will miss our chats at the Granville and 70th McDonald’s and our hours of employment in the “pruning” industry. Those HLL days are also some of my happiest memories. My condolences to his entire family.
