Joerg Schneider died on Thursday evening May 8, 2025 at the age of 92 at VGH, Vancouver BC. He was surrounded by all his family and loved ones, including his 2 month old Great Grandchild Logan.
Joerg was born in Sudetenland Germany on Sept. 13 1932. He grew up in Hamburg Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1952.
Joerg mastered piano and composed a large number of piano works mostly in a classical style, following in the footsteps of his favorite composer W. A. Mozart. Joerg also achieved a ranking of number 3 in the Canadian correspondence chess league. He also achieved the rank of Diamond Life Master in the International Bridge Society.
He is survived by his wife Christene Schneider and his 3 children Angela, Annette, and Christopher.
Joerg was kind, patient, and never had a mean word for anyone. He is one of the most decent men I knew. He is sorely missed. Rest In Peace Joerg.
