Larry was born in Calgary, lived and worked across Western Canada & Ontario until he found his way to Vancouver in 1984, and never moved again. He became a West Coast native son at the age of 44.
Larry loved to run, wilderness kayak, camp, bike, play pickleball and socialize. At one point his social circle was so wide it was said that he could make friends with a doorknob.
Larry passed away September 8 at age 85. He is survived by Anne, his partner & wife of 36 years. He is also survived by his 3 children Cindy (Dave), Jeff (Linda), Patrick; and 6 grandchildren Erin, Alexandra (Anthony), Bailey, Yvette, Sara and Mason, plus all of his and Anne’s extended families.
Family came first with Larry. He loved and supported his children and grandchildren, but never interfered with how they lived their lives. He and Anne were blessed with both visiting their families in their homes and, more often than not, welcoming their extended families to West Vancouver – the door was always open!
Please take a moment and raise a glass (of the sweetest wine you dare) to a wonderful man.
There will be a celebration of life Wednesday September 16 at the West Vancouver Yacht Club 2:30-4:30.
