Libusha (Lily) Zeitler

With extreme sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother and friend.  

Lily passed away at the age of 90 on the morning of December 1, 2023 at Vancouver General Hospital, with her daughters Rosemary and Helen and son-in-law Paul closely at her side.  Lily was predeceased by her husband Adam.

Lily was born in the Czech Republic and immigrated to Prescott Ontario with her mother and grandmother in 1948.  She settled in Montreal where she met her soon to be husband, and where they raised their two daughters. As a young mom still learning the English language, she attended and graduated from business college. Soon after, Lily started her career as office manager extraordinaire for a small accountancy firm in Westmount, for whom she worked for more than 30 years.

Lily was a gracious, charismatic and kind lady.  A loving daughter, wife and mother for whom family was at the heart of all she did.  She enjoyed a great passion for sweets, for animals, and for music.  A perfect day for mom was eating macaroons while watching a nature show on TV, whilst listening to the music of Andre Rieu.

Mom will be remembered for her strength of spirit and the generosity she extended to all whom she met.  I know that our mom is now having a good cup of coffee with lots of sugar in it, with the many friends and family that passed away before her.  

A celebration of Lily’s life will be held at a later date.  Lily will be forever missed and always in our hearts.
