Ling Mannie

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ling Mannie on May 31, 2026, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the age of 62.

Born in Hong Kong in 1964, Ling lived a life defined by love, compassion, generosity, and devotion to family. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of those closest to her after a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive cancer.

Ling was the beloved wife of Antony Mannie and the cherished mother of Rachael Mannie and Kathryn Mannie. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is lovingly remembered by her father, Ng Yeung Chow; her brother, Chung Chow; and her sister, Sheila Chow (Lorne); as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

For more than 30 years, Ling dedicated her career to TELUS, serving in various telecommunications and dispatch roles. She was respected by colleagues for her strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to help others.

Outside of work, Ling found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved animals, flowers, gardening, and card making. Her creativity was expressed through the beautiful handmade cards she shared with family and friends. She had a generous spirit and a caring heart, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Family was at the centre of Ling’s life. She was especially devoted to caring for her mother during her long journey with Alzheimer’s disease, demonstrating extraordinary patience, compassion, and selflessness. Her dedication to family and elder care was a reflection of the deep love she carried in her heart.

Ling will be remembered for her gentle nature, quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain in our hearts forever.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for the compassionate care and support they provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation or to a cancer research organization of your choice in Ling’s memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 1, 2026.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed.
