Margaret Lo passed away peacefully on Monday July 12, 2021 at the age of 71 at home in Vancouver, BC.

She was born in Hong Kong in 1950 to Song Chan and Kam So Chan. In 1969 Margaret met her future husband Vernon Lo. Margaret attended the University of Manitoba and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and a specialization in Nutritional Health.

Vernon and Margaret married in 1972 and eventually settled in Vancouver, BC in 1991. For 49 years they remained dedicated to each other and their family before Margaret’s death in 2021. In 1985 Margaret decided to leave her position in Accounts Payables at the historic Eaton’s Canada Department Store, to raise her family. By 1995, she returned to school part time at the Vancouver Community College and obtained a Certificate of Teaching English as a Second Language to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher, while also raising a young family.

Today, Margaret is dearly remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, teacher, illustrator, storyteller and much more. Her love of her family and vivacious thirst for life’s pursuits remain an inspiration to her daughters. She is survived by her husband Vernon and daughters Amanda and Dara.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date.

Memorial donations may be made to plant a tree in Margaret’s honour through Plant a Tree in Canada with Mailed Commemorative Card – A Living Tribute
