Donald Charles Murphy

June 2, 1931 – May 9, 2016

With heavy hearts we say goodbye to a dear husband, Dad, Grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.

Don was born in Lethbridge to George and Hannah Murphy; he died peacefully at home in Burnaby.

Predeceased by sister Kay (Bill) Artemenko, brother-in-laws Neil, Cec, sister-in-laws Gerda and Mary, nephew Ian and niece Jeannie Livingstone.

Survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Beth.  Daughters, Diane (Terri), Laurie (Jamie) Good, Kathy (Brent) Shannon, brother and friend George “Geo”, sister in law Blanche Livingstone, grandchildren Kyle, Brody, Aimee, Trevor and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Don worked at Riverview as well as Burnaby Health Centre for 35 years and enjoyed lasting friendships with his colleagues.

He was fortunate to enjoy 29 years of retirement doing what he pleased.  His quick wit, quiet demeanor and love for family will never be forgotten.

We will celebrate his life on Saturday June 11th at 12pm at the Scandinavian Community Centre 6540 Thomas St. Burnaby.

    So sorry for your loss Beth, Diane, Laurie and Kathy and all the rest of your family.
    It is a joy to serve all you Murphy’s over the years at ‘The Old Bavaria Haus’..family birthdays ect ect..Diane and Terri have been my first of all friends, and then my special customers. That’s how I met Dad and Mom Murphy❤ So very glad I did.
