Paulina was born in Glasgow to Thomas and Selma Blyth in 1926 and died at her home in Vancouver, as were her wishes, on June 25, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Barnes and will be fondly remembered by her friends in her sewing circles and from her days in the Highland Dance Community.

Paulina was an avid seamstress, making clothing and other items for herself, for others to purchase and for others to benefit from. In recent years she was highly involved with a local charitable quilting effort, donating quilts to BC Children’s Hospital, Veterans groups and many other community organizations.

Paulina was an organized, efficient woman who knew her own mind and had her own opinions. She loved her cats, her Scottish heritage, music and having her daily glass of Sherry.

As per Paulina’s wishes, there will not be a funeral, however, following cremation, Paulina’s ashes will be scattered in remembrance at the St. Faith’s Anglican Church Memorial Garden, Vancouver.

Rest in Peace
