AUGUST 10, 1959 ~ NOVEMBER 5, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell to our brother, uncle and friend, Rick. He passed most peacefully on Sunday, November 5th, surrounded by the love of his family.
Rick will be forever remembered for his unique character; innately kind, tenacious, generous, funny and —above all— indomitable. Fortunately for us all, his long passion for photography, shared with many, has left us with wonderful and enduring gifts.
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Gladys, Clarence and Marguerite, and is survived by his siblings, Beverley, Wayne (Julie) and Jim (Colleen), nieces and nephews Geoff, Wayne (Amy), Jamie, Robert and Amanda, his cousins, Kelly, Karen, Dwayne and Brad… and his many wonderful friends and extended family from Langara Photography, and the Burnaby Photographic Society.
A special heartfelt mention to the team from WSBC: Zack, Lynda, Duane, Bruce, Steve and Jana… You have been like family. Your support helped him actually realize and live his best life.

“There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is
called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right
day to love, believe, do and mostly live.”

-Dalai Lama

Rick was a dear friend but more than that an example to never give up no matter what you are faced with. He went on again and again after traumatic injury, and still found joy in life and sharing. I still feel him near and miss his daily calls.
