February 28, 1929 – July 10, 2023

Wilhelm (Wim, Bill) Lambeck passed away peacefully on July 10th, 2023. Wim leaves behind family and friends who will miss him dearly.  He was pre-deceased by his first wife Bathild (Tilla, Muschka) in 1999, and second wife Mechthild in 2012. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Ilse, and children Ricki (John), Chris (Monica), Jan (Stephanie), all his grandchildren Kathleen (Orion), Rebecca, Virginia, Janika (Matthew), Alexandra (Alexander), Nicholas and Lucas and great grandchildren Daniel, William, Dominic, and Abigail, and stepchildren Fred (Elske), Chris (Lori), Nito, Konrad (Barb), Klaus (Betty). He touched so many hearts and will be dearly missed by all family and friends.

Wim lived a full and adventurous life of 94 years on three continents. He had a very inquisitive mind and loved to get to know people, especially when he was able to travel, which he did as frequently as possible.  His working life revolved around agriculture, starting in Germany at the Agricultural College in Bruehl, then in Chile where he immigrated in 1953, and finally to Canada in 1972, where his final posting was at the Agricultural Research Station in Agassiz.

The family is very grateful for the loving care he received in his later years.  Special thanks to Sharon at Milestone Retreat and the wonderful care aides who were so compassionate.  The family truly appreciates all the kind messages and support we have received.

A celebration of Wim’s life will be held in his honour in Agassiz at the Fraser River Lodge (where the home he built still stands) on October 9th, 2023.  If you would like to attend, please rsvp [email protected]
